I’ve been observing how this phenomenon can take over the very essence of an individual. It seems there is an inherent need in the American psyche to want to compete and take from others. In other cultures this doesn´t always exist. Is it our undoing to not try and understand this craving within. This greed to devour.
But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either. Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. And just as you want people to treat you, treat them in the same way.
Knowing this how could anyone gamble. For a gambler is a thief at heart.
It is not the competition that is wrong and tearing apart this country. It is the deep understanding of what it means that is tearing at out collective.
